How to use this document Copy any prompt below, paste it into Lovable, and edit the parts in [brackets] to match your idea. That's it.
The order matters. Work through the steps in sequence, don’t skip a step.

Run these two prompts in ChatGPT or Claude first. They help you get clear on what you're building and who it's for.
Also, it saves you from burning unnecessary tokens inside Lovable ;)
If you want to, you can also use Lovable’s Plan Mode to do this, before generating any code. Think of it as explaining your app to a smart assistant.
Prompt 1: Understand the problem
I have an idea for [describe your app in 1–2 sentences, e.g. "a habit tracker for people trying to build a morning routine"].
Help me explore the problem before I start building. Ask me 3–5 questions that will help figure out:
- Who exactly is the person struggling with this problem?
- What are they currently doing to solve it (and why isn't that working)?
- What would success look like for them?
Don't suggest features yet. I just want to understand the problem better.
Answer the questions honestly. If the answers feel vague, the idea needs more narrowing before you build.
Prompt 2: Define your user and what they should achieve
Based on what we just discussed, help me write a one-sentence problem statement in this format:
"[Type of person] needs a way to [do something] because [current obstacle]."
Then define:
- The primary user (specific — not "anyone" or "busy people")
- The one core job this product does for them
- The one thing that makes this better than what they're doing today
Copy the problem statement somewhere visible. You'll refer back to it every time you're unsure what to build next.
